Can Variable dark energy explain old galaxy clusters?
Does dark energy change over time? A puzzling model of this as yet undetected entity that is thought to be accelerating the universe's expansion could explain some puzzling observations of galaxy clusters. But it will have to jump many more hurdles to compete with the simplest and so far most successful model of the elusive entity. So lets see that how it will be helpful in crossing those hurdles !!

Mysterious spot found in Uranus!
THE GIST
·
Uranus looks boring but it actually doesn’t. Reports are claiming that a bright spot has appeared in its atmosphere. Amateur astronomers are asked to help with the investigation as it may result in Hubble taking a closer look.

Dark matter mystery deepens!
Before learning about the topic, let's find out what is dark matter? Dark matter is the invisible material thought to penetrate the universe and can be indirectly detected through its gravitational pull on the normal matter that makes up stars and planets.

The Youngest Exoplanet!
As we know all planets in our solar system have born from a dusty disk surrounding the sun billions of years ago, so wouldn't it be exciting to see another star system going through the phase of producing exoplanets!
Today, using the power of the twin 10 meter Keck telescope at Hawaii, a team of astronomers have clarified just that.

Oceans of water in nearby star!
Herschel Space Obsevatory, a European Space Agency and associated with NASA, finds oceans of water in disk of nearby star. The information collected by this observatory helped the astronomers to detect for the first time, cold water vapor enveloping a dusty disk around a young star.

Space - an opaque?
The space between the galaxies was not transparent; rather it was an opaque i.e., there was a dense fog. But how that fog was cleared is still a major question in the minds of astronomers. New observational evidence from the University Of Michigan shows how high energy light radiation could be responsible for its clearance.

Measuring Cosmic distances
Functioning of the white dwarf
Distance to the nearest asteroid and some other cosmic distances can be measured simply with the help of radar.
Bigger distances depend upon spotting a blasting star in a distant galaxy, or measuring the expansion of space time itself.
A type 1a supernova has been found in a nearby galaxy called the M101- also called as the Pinwheel galaxy.

STAR DEVOURED BY A BLACK HOLE
Onset Of A Relativistic Jet |
Studies of journal Nature provide possibilities of cosmic accidents on August 25 2011 that has been emitting X-rays towards Earth since late march. Astronomers were first alerted of the intense and unusual high-energy flares from the new source in the constellation Draco by NASA's Swift satellite.

Earth May Have Had Two Moons
Two Moons |
Most of us will say earth had one moon as we see today. But according to a new hypothesis that is wrong. The journal Nature suggests the existence of more than one moon. This new idea has tried to solve a mysterious puzzle of the difference in the near and far sides of moon. So, when and how did Mother Earth lose its companion ?

THE JOURNEY THAT IS STILL GOING ON
When you travel for some hours you feel much tired. Even our machines get heated and performance quality gets degraded if we make it run for longer time. Now imagine of a machine that is doing it’s work for 30 years in the same perfect and correct condition and still has not stopped. Yes my friends, this machine is the most distant unmanned man-made spacecraft from earth, The Voyager 1. It Started its journey in Sept. 5, 1977 and now is the most distant spacecraft from earth.
That small pale blue dot is us, yes its the Earth as viewed from Voyager 1, 4 billion miles away |

LOOKING BACK AT PAST
History was created on 14th February when the first ever close-up flyby of its kind was made. This history was made the STARDUST-NExt probe that flew within 112 miles(181 kilometers) of the comet Temple 1 at 11:39 p.m. EST or 4:39 GMT(15th February 2011). It snapped photos and made measurements all at the same time.

Black Holes
People often ask if Moon revolves around Earth, Earth revolves around Sun, then what does the Sun revolve around? It has kept astrophysicists curious for decades. According to recent explorations, astrophysicists have concluded that our sun revolves around the center of our galaxy (Milky Way galaxy) where there is a super massive black hole
